Utah has so much to offer in the way of diverse landscapes, outdoor pursuits and family friendly communities. With many of us preferring to be close to a major city for either work or travel commitments, being within a short commute can be almost essential when it comes to choosing a new home. And that’s why some of the communities to the west of Salt Lake City could just offer you the perfect spot to call home.
The areas to the west of Salt Lake City can offer stunning scenery and some of the most incredible landscapes not only in the country but on the planet.
Wendover
Known as the gateway to Utah, the small historic town of Wendover sits right on the border with Nevada, where you can access the Las Vegas style casino resorts found just across the border in the town of West Wendover, Nevada. However, this resort town is not just about the nearby gambling opportunities. It’s also the closest town to the famous 30,000 acre Bonneville Salt Flats. This magnificent and remarkable natural landscape attracts thousands of people from all over the world, including filmmakers looking for that unique photographic opportunity.
Tooele
The town of Tooele is surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery and yet is just around a 30 minute drive from Salt Lake City, making it an ideal home town if you’re looking to commute to the capital. Tooele has plenty to offer its residents, including good schools, shopping and recreation opportunities. The town has its own golf courses and there are lots of hiking and biking trails in the vicinity for outdoor enthusiasts.
