Things To Do in Utah with your Kids This Summer

Summer is right around the corner and that means summer break, outdoor living, vacations and lots of family fun. Living in Utah there is no shortage of things to do with the kids, which makes it a fantastic place to call home and Utah homebuilders know that location can mean a lot when it comes to choosing a home for your family. Fourth of July Fireworks

There are plenty of family friendly 4th of July events all across the state, as well as parades and evening fireworks in many cities.

Kaysville will be hosting its annual Red, White and Boom fireworks display in Barnes Park from 5pm on July 4th.

Sandy will also have its annual 4th of July celebrations culminating in a spectacular fireworks display.

Tooele has a “Forever Proud” theme for their 2019 4th of July celebrations, which will include a parade and various events followed by a Bit N’ Spur rodeo and evening fireworks at Deseret Peak Complex.

West Jordan will also be celebrating Independence Day in style with various events including a fun run, a carnival, rodeo, pie eating contest and some stunning fireworks at Veterans Memorial Park.

Salt Lake City will be hosting a spectacular fireworks display in the evening of the 4th of July, starting at 10pm in Jordan Park, as well as lots of events and celebrations going on throughout the day, including food trucks.

Camping

Nothing says summer quite like a family camping trip and in Utah there are countless opportunities to get outdoors and enjoy some fresh air while spending a night under canvas. You’ll find campgrounds all across the state, whether you’re looking for mountains, canyons or deserts. Plus, with five National Parks in the state, you can explore and hike in some of the best landscapes in the USA.

Turn your camping trip into a water adventure by renting kayaks or canoes and explore the many lakes and waterways that can be found in Utah. Maybe even stop for a spot of fishing to make your camping trip even more exciting.

Strawberry Days

Taking place in Pleasant Grove from June 15th through June 22nd, Strawberry Days is one festival that can kick start your summer. With numerous events and parades, there will be something to keep your whole family entertained, including a car show, Huck Finn Day and of course, plenty of strawberries. There will even be a craft fair there where you might be able to pick up a little something to add a touch of summer to your home decor.

Seven Peaks Water Park

Good news, the Seven Peaks Water Park in Provo is open for the summer season and that means lots of splashing and fun that kids will love. There will also be some events and celebrations to celebrate the park’s 30th birthday, which will include a Sea Lion Splash show, a raptor show and lots more.
