Utah Festivals Not to be Missed this September

Park Silly Sunday Market, Park City

This weekly event has been taking place all summer and will continue every Sunday through September 22nd on Historic Main Street in Park City. It can be a fun day out for the whole family, with plenty to keep everyone entertained. There’s gourmet food plus a farmers market selling fresh local produce. You’ll also find arts and crafts, plus antiques, so it can be the perfect opportunity to look for those one of a kind home decorations to personalize your home decor.

Desert Sky Lantern Festival

The Desert Sky Lantern Festival can be a mesmerizing way to float into the fall season. This spectacular event, which requires tickets, is designed with the whole family in mind. It takes place on September 28th at the Bonneville Salt Flats, west of Salt Lake City, from 5pm till 10pm. While the main spectacle is the releasing of the sky lanterns, there will also be food vendors, merchandise and live music to keep everyone entertained. The sky lanterns are designed to be eco-friendly and fire-safe, and the festival organizers will have staff on hand to track and collect the lanterns after they have landed.

2019 Utah State Fair

The annual Utah State Fair will be taking place from September 5th through September 15th at the Utah State Fairpark in Salt Lake City. There will be arena events and live performances, as well as lots of things to keep kids entertained, including a Little Hands on the Farm exhibit where little ones can learn about life on the farm and how food goes from farm to store. There will also be an Animals of Wizardry exhibit, where kids can discover their favorite creatures from magical worlds.

The State Fair will also be home to a backyard, where you can chill out with traditional backyard games, a 14 foot bubble tower, stunt dog shows, jousting tournament, horse pulling, rodeo, monster trucks, demolition derby and lots more.

Salt Lake Comic Con

Comic Con seems to get bigger and bigger each year and this year the 2019 Salt Lake City Comic Con will be at the Salt Palace Convention Center from September 5th through 7th. Whether you want to dress up like your favorite comic book characters or superheroes or you simply want to admire everyone else in their costumes, this can be a memorable festival for any comic book fan, both kids and adults. There will also be the chance to meet some of your favorite stars, including Jason Isaacs, Ricky Whittle, Christina Ricci, Lana Parilla and Dolph Lundgren.

Salt Lake Greek Festival

The 44th annual Greek Festival will be taking place this year in the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Salt Lake City from September 6th through 8th. This festival can be a fantastic way to celebrate Greek culture and discover homemade Greek food, as well as authentic Greek music and dance. It is a family friendly event with a $3 admission fee, with some of the proceeds going to charity and community programs.
